Similar
to the famous climb of
Sydney Harbour Bridge
, a climb of Auckland
Harbour Bridge is now
offered too. The climb
itself lasts for approximately
ninety minutes and a
further hour is required
for preparations and
for return of equipment
after the adventure.
The starting point for
this climb is at Westhaven
Reserve, at the bottom
of Curran Street , Herne
Bay, that is to say right
at the foot of the Harbour
Bridge on the city (south)
side. Climbs are available
every day starting between
9:00 and 16:20. At some
times of the year, night
climbs are also operated,
but in all cases reservations
must be made in advance
(0800 GO CLIMB). Flat
closed shoes are required,
and in winter gloves
are advisable. You can
also do the climb
plus a bungy jump from
the bridge.
Transport – Bus 005 (15 minutes, every 20 minutes). There is also a free bus for climbers operating from the city centre.
